This qualification is designed to provide an introduction to the ‘Forest School ethos’

Who is this award suitable for?

This Qualification is designed to provide an introduction to the ‘Forest School’ethos, learning in the outdoors and personal development. It is suitable for peer mentors, School Governors, and volunteers. Age 14 + It is not suitable to undertake a role as a Qualified Leader, or as a Qualified Assistant. It is suitable for interested parties who wish to understand more about the Forest School Ethos.

What will I learn?

After this course you will:

Understand the Forest School approach to learning.

Be able to participate in a Forest School experience.

Understand methods of identification of woodland species. Understand the impact of Forest School on the woodland environment.

Understand hazards at Forest School.

How long will it take?

You will attend the course for three days, attend a Forest School session, and allow time for the completion of your workbook.

What will I need to do?

You will participate in a range of practical activities during your 3 days training.

You will need to complete a workbook within the 3 sessions.
